Rhiannon’s Fan Fiction
'Natalya!'
Nero's voice echoed through the corridors.
'Natalya!'
Nero stepped through the secret door into the teachers accommodation area, and walked straight into prof. Pike.
'Have you seen Raven?' he asked anxiously 'I've been looking for her for the last 45 minutes!'
But to his surprise, the professor just barged past him without hearing.
'Professor?' Nero called after him, but Pike didn't answer.
Nero shivered. There way something strange going on here, and though Nero was used to strange situations, the disappearance of his most trusted assassin, the sudden complete shutdown of the whole school and no-one being able to hear him, was admittedly spooking him out.
Suddenly the alarms began to wail and colonel Francisco’s voice bellowed out from the tannoys.
'We have an unauthorised security breach! All stations report to the hangar immediately!'
Nero groaned. He quickly ran through the corridors and into the staff room where, although there was no sight of them, the staff should have been assembled.
This was NOT good.
‘Turn round very very slowly with your hands up, or the next thing to go through you head will be a 7 millimetre bullet' a voice said from behind him.
Nero turned.
'Oh. It’s you.' said Raven
'Natalya! Would you kindly explain to me why I’ve had to look for you for the last hour?' Nero asked, confused.
'Well, I kind-of went on a little unauthorised mission.' she said, with an evil grin.
Nero looked wary.
Raven raised her eyebrows, 'you really doubt me?'
Nero frowned.
'Well,' she said, 'I thought you'd find it helpful if I told you that the source of this problem is..'
BOOM!
'Err, that doesn’t sound too good,'
The corridors whizzed past as Nero and Raven sprinted to the hangar.
'You know, you never did get round to telling me what the cause of all this was.' Nero said.
'You’ll see' said Raven mysteriously, taking a right turn.
'Wait!' Nero shouted 'we're going the wrong way! You can't get to the hangar this way!'
'I know' said Raven 'but who said we were going to the hangar...'
Nero glared.
'Natalya...'
'Yes?' she said,
Nero glared harder.
'I just thought you might like to see the source of the problem.'
'Well to me,' Nero answered, still glaring, 'it seems like the source of the problem is in the HANGAR.'
'Oh no! That’s just a little branch of the real problem...'
She bent down and pressed her palm to a small glass panel on the wall.
'Access granted' a mechanical voice said, and the hidden door to the camera monitoring room slid open with a hiss.
Nero gasped.
HIVEmind was standing in the middle of the room, and he had a BODY.
'Anything yet, HIVEmind?' Raven typed her access code into the main control computer.
Nero looked confused.
'Natalya?'
'Mmm?'
'What is all this about? Why is HIVEmind here? Why has he got a BODY?'
'He said he'd help me.' Raven replied, 'We're checking the CCTV, 'cause I found, err, a DISTURBANCE in the tech department.'
She looked at Nero meaningfully.
'Ahh.' He said.

Meanwhile, in the hangar, Colonel Francisco arrived and found fourteen of his best men lying dead on the ground. There was no sign of how they had been killed, apart from four bead of blood on the side of every man's head. Colonel flicked the safety off his revolver and called out to the room.
'Surrender or Die!'
'Die.' said a voice from behind him, and the last thing he felt was a stabbing pain on the side of his head, before his vision clouded into blackness.

Meanwhile, four people dressed in black crept through the maze. The camo suits concealed them well from anything but the sharpest eye. The leader, a tallish girl with long black hair and pale skin glanced back at the rapidly fading laser beams that had once guarded the entrance. 'Operation A complete' she whispered into her headset. The shortest of the four, a girl with short blonde hair took a small lap-top-like gadget from her pocket as the dark-haired girl inserted a small probe into an almost invisible lock in the wall. There was a click and the control box swung open. The blonde girl plugged in her laptop into a small plug and began to type.

Nero watched the camera in horror. The film of the blank door as it had been for the last 3 hours suddenly flickered and a flash of black flicked across the screen. It flickered again, and then continued with it's (supposedly) filming of the blank door. But it was obvious. Almost too obvious. Relay collars aren’t always as subtle as you might think. But it wasn't that that worried him. The flicker of black was almost identical to the flicker that was found in the secure shops in London three years ago, just before something mysteriously disappeared from one of their secure vaults. That was the worrying thing. Sometimes he wondered if the security systems were to weak to house the secret villains of the future.

Nieve Renn ran like the wind through the corridors of HIVE, occasionally checking the small communication device strapped to her wrist. 'Operation A complete' Thorn's voice whispered in her earpiece. 'Nearly done she whispered to herself as she finally reached the small ventilation shaft outside the maze. Putting her claustrophobia behind her, she took a deep breath and climbed in...

'We have to get there NOW!' Nero shouted
Raven rolled her eyes.
'Err, excuse me, but I think I was the one who's been monitoring them for the last 45 minutes. You don't even know what they’re doing in there, and, I don't know about you but I don't really remember how to survive in the maze when there’s a group of well-trained-villains-of-the-future loose in the middle of the night. Any ideas?' Raven glared at him.
'Well, you must have a plan! You don't know what those kids are capable of!'
'Who was it who's trained Thorn for the last 3 years?' Raven asked sarcastically.
'Ah' Said Nero

Deep in the maze, the four in black crept through an underground tunnel. The tallest, an African guy with short black hair took a small device from his rucksack and attached it to the wall. The dark-haired girl then took a length of wire and attached it to a ventilation duct on the opposite wall. Suddenly, a voice whispered through the darkness. 'Annon!' The girl quickly motioned to her friend and the blonde girl quickly removed the cover on the duct. A small girl with glittering eyes dropped to the floor out of the duct and looked around warily. 'Everything's going to plan, you don't need to worry.' The blonde girl whispered. 'I know' Said the girl, 'but I still can't help thinking that something's not quite right here...'
A tall blonde girl detached herself from the shadows. 'Good. You’re here.' She looked relieved. 'I still don't understand why I have to be on watch, Thorn' She glared at the dark haired girl. Thorn sighed. 'Look, you have to stay safe until we need you!' 'Yes, and now is REALLY not the time for bickering!' Said the boy. 'Look, we're in the middle of the maze with evil psychopathic ninja trying to find us, for God's sake!' Thorn glared at him. 'Who says that they even know we are here anyway?' She said.
***
Raven stepped through the entrance of the maze. The lasers had long faded but she still noticed a small recording device. Let it be. She thought with an evil grin, it won’t make any difference if they know I’m here…
***
Nero watched the camera in horror. Oh God! What has Raven got me into this time? He thought.
The CCTV showed 15 of Nero's best fighters, including the colonel himself, lying dead on the floor. Nero groaned as he set off to the hangar.
***
The silent assassin crept through the secure weapon locker. Choosing a loaded sleeper, she abandoned her dagger and crept back towards the entrance to the hangar. Nero entered and she grinned. This was going to be fun.
***
Meanwhile, in the lab, the strange air pressure proved too much for the professor. It wasn't just that it was giving him a headache, but that he actually couldn't hear anything apart from the sound of his breathing and a strange buzzing noise. Abandoning his experiment, he set of to HIVEmind, to see if he could sort out the problem.
***
Thorn glanced down at the feed from the recording device and gasped in horror. 'Raven!' she hissed.
The African cursed. 'Nitro, quick!' The tall blonde took out the nitrogen gun from her rucksack and handed it to him, and he carefully drew a square on the wall with liquid nitrogen. Thorn motioned to her friends and, as one, they shoved in the centre of the square, and it fell in with a clang. 'Quickly!' The five quickly scrambled through the hole and Thorn replaced it with a grimace. 'She's heard us?' The brown haired girl asked calmly. 'Who didn't?' Thorn said sarcastically.
***
As Nero walked towards the hangar, he remembered the time when Raven had come back with new camera feed on the Alphas-to-be. He remembered Thorn, the girl with black hair and pale skin. She would be a good student, he'd thought. And Dimitri. God knows how the tall, well-built African had convinced a bank to give him access to a high security vault! The girls, Suzannah and Gina and Nieve. He didn't really know much about them. Although he couldn't think of a single person who hadn't head of the girl who tried to bomb the Empire state building. He laughed under his breath. But put together, these kids were dangerous...
